The mission of the Greater Rome Convention & Visitors Bureau (GRCVB) is to strengthen the economic fabric of the community through tourism development. Sports tourism is a very integral part of this vision with the GRCVB promoting Rome & Floyd County as a premier sports travel destination.

Event Planners:
The  GRCVB is a one-stop shop for all event organizers to successfully stage any type of sports event in Georgia's Rome. The GRCVB Team is able to assist with bid proposals - from assessment & consultation for hosting a new event, to providing accolades, photos and other media materials for the actual bid package. Once an event is secured, we are able to assist with rates for hotel accommodations, press releases and event listings in calendars, web-sites and newsletters. The Rome/Floyd Visitor Center will provide you with visitor guides, coupon books, brochures for local attractions and access to the Rome REPS volunteer force.

Sports & Events Committee:
With our past successes, the GRCVB has an established "local organizing committee" in place to ensure the success of your event.   A Standard Operating Procedure is in place to assist event planners. The committee works closely with multiple city, county and government agencies - including  public safety, public works, local sports organizations, medical support, etc... We can guide you to the needed permits and city services. The right agency contact is key to efficient planning. Ensuring all authorities are informed and supporting the event reduces last minute snags on event day.

Many event planners have recognized the value of developing a partnership with the GRCVB, and include the organization as an in-kind sponsor, providing promotional benefits as well. This mutually beneficial relationship can help maximize marketing and promotional efforts for both the event organizer and the GRCVB.
