Rome, GA -
The Greater Rome Convention & Visitors Bureau wants you to Rediscover Rome and fall in love with your hometown again! You are challenged to carry a camera with you throughout the summer months of June and July to capture what you love about Rome and Floyd County!
This photo contest is sponsored by the Greater Rome Convention & Visitors Bureau to showcase Rome and Floyd County. Each photo submitted, whether a winner or not, has the chance to be used in various publications and on the Georgia’s Rome web site to promote Rome and Floyd County as a great place to visit.
“This contest doesn’t take a ton of technical skill – some of the best photos I have ever seen have been taken by amateurs,” said Chris Cannon, Director of Communication at the Greater Rome Convention & Visitors Bureau. “All it really takes is finding that special moment that makes you go WOW.”
The contest will run for the months of June and July. Following the end of the contest on July 31, the photos will be judge by a panel and first, second and third places will receive prize packages. Photos will be judged by members of the Greater Rome Convention & Visitors Bureau Board of Directors based on content, quality and showing an original perspective of Rome and Floyd County.
The first place winner will receive a Georgia’s Rome Gift Basket from the Last Stop Gift Shop, dinner for two at an area restaurant, and a framed certificate of recognition.
In addition, the winning photograph will be featured in the 2011 Georgia’s Rome advertisement in the Georgia Travel Guide (Distribution of over 100,000 throughout the year), turned into a postcard to be sold in the Last Stop Gift Shop and Rome Visitors Center, and a print framed and hung on display in the Rome Visitors Center.
Second and third place winners will also receive prize packages from the Last Stop Gift Shop and dinner for two at an area restaurant.
The Greater Rome Convention & Visitors Bureau is looking for very unique photos! Every Roman has seen a hundred photos of Clocktower, but we haven’t seen that barn in your backyard at sunrise… Or your kids at that great fishing spot you know on the Coosa. Think about what you love in Rome & Floyd County and show us through a photo!
