Spring events wanted for community & visitors calendar

ROME, GA. — It may be cold and frightful outside, but the Greater Rome Convention & Visitors Bureau (GRCVB) is already planning for the warm and bright days of the upcoming spring.

The GRCVB is seeking calendar submissions for all spring events in 2012. Approved events will be marketed by the GRCVB in publications and advertisements and submitted to the tourism office of the Georgia Department of Economic Development for the state calendar of events.

"We've pushed our calendar deadline forward about 3 weeks in order to get the calendar distributed faster and into more potential visitor's hands," said Chris Cannon, GRCVB director of communications. "Last year we distributed over 8,000 copies of our spring calendar and we're hoping to increase that number significantly this year."

In order for to be included in the Spring into Rome printed calendar that is distributed around the state, the GRCVB must receive the event submission by January 26, 2012 for all events spanning from March 1, 2012 to May 31, 2012. All events must be submitted electronically on www.RomeGeorgia.org under the Event Submission Form.

Events must occur within Rome or Floyd County and also fall within the requirements of the GRCVB calendar policy, which is available on their website.
