‘A Christmas Carol’ live radio show Dec. 18 at the DeSoto Theatre
Rome, Ga. (Dec. 13, 2011) — Rome Little Theatre and the Historic DeSoto Theatre Foundation will present a live radio broadcast of the classic holiday story, “A Christmas Carol,” on Sunday, Dec. 18 at 2:30 p.m. at the historic DeSoto Theatre on Broad Street in downtown Rome. The show is presented in partnership with WLAQ and 95.7 The Ridge and will be broadcast on those stations live at 2:30 p.m.
The show will feature local children and teenagers bringing the story’s characters to life as well as live sound effects, Christmas carols, and old-style radio commercials. Community members may participate in this special Christmas event as a member of the live audience at the theater during the broadcast. Tickets for the show are available at the DeSoto Theatre Box Office. Adult tickets are $10, and students, seniors, and groups of 10 or more are $8. Tickets can also be purchased on-line at

This production is a unique opportunity for families to enjoy “A Christmas Carol” together at home and for the community to see firsthand how a live radio broadcast is organized and accomplished.
This radio broadcast and stage presentation will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association, the Historic DeSoto Theatre Foundation, and Rome Little Theatre.
