FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Ragland to hold book signing

ROME, GA. —  Local author and historian Mike Ragland will hold a book signing at the Last Stop Gift Shop inside the Rome - Floyd Visitor Center on Saturday, November 12, from 10am - noon.

Ragland will be signing copies of his latest novel, "Bertha."

Based on a true story, the novel covers the life of Bertha Gossett Hill from Cherokee County, Ala. After her parents and husband all die within one year of each other, an investigation is launched and the saga begins.

Taking place in Floyd County throughout the 1940's to 1960's, the story from inquiry through the final trial is thrilling and captive.

Ragland grew up in Lindale, Ga. and served in the Navy from 1963 to 1967. He is retired from the Rome Police Department following 40 years of service.

Now a full time author, Ragland is regularly published in the Rome News-Tribune and the Summerville News.

Copies of the book will be available for purchase at the signing. The Last Stop Gift Shop is located inside the Rome - Floyd Visitor Center at 402 Civic Center Drive, across from Applebee's. Call 706-295-5576 for more information.
