Civil War boat tours sold out
ROME, GA. — Both tours of Spirits of the Civil War: Rome's Riverways scheduled for Sunday, October 23, are sold out.
The inaugural Civil War tour aboard the Roman Holiday, Rome's public excursion boat, will show guests the city's historical vistas from a unique perspective and the power that the waters held in fighting Union Forces during the 1860s.
"This has been our most popular Civil War tour, so we will definitely be including it on the 2012 calendar of commemorative events," said Lisa Smith, executive director of the Greater Rome Convention & Visitors Bureau.
The event is sponsored by the Greater Rome Convention & Visitors Bureau and the City of Rome as part of a 5-year commemoration series to educate citizens and visitors on the significant civil war history in Rome & Floyd County.
