Ian Childers’ work “A Bit of Everything” will be on display Oct. 17 through Nov. 11 at the Berry College Moon Gallery.
There will be a gallery talk will be at 7 p.m. Monday (Oct. 17). Childers’ describes his work in ceramics and mixed media as his “surrender to whimsy.”
“We as human beings of this media overdose called the technological age have just begun a downward spiral in the loosing of sensation to information,” he said. “My hand and my idea are locked in this course. The moment I find myself focusing on any one thing for any period of time, the more I want to move onto what is next. This is not a form of A.D.D.—it is merely how I have trained myself to receive and to expel information. I present to you here, my own version of studio practice channel surfing.”
The gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and admission is free. For more information contact Director Jere Lykins at
