ROME SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA TO HOST 7TH ANNUAL
ROME FINE WINE FESTIVAL
Local wine festival is adding a variety of special events that will lead up to the main tasting affair.
ROME, Ga., October 12, 2011 --- The Rome Symphony Orchestra’s seventh annual Rome Fine Wine Festival is scheduled for Sunday, November 6, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Forrest Building Ballrooms in downtown Rome.
Prior to the wine festival, a Sunday brunch and champagne tasting will be offered at Coosa Country Club from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $40 per person and are available through the Rome Symphony’s office and Web site.
In addition to the main tasting, this year’s wine festival is also offering three events on Saturday, November 5, that lead up to the final affair on November 6. Patrons can register for an 18-hole round of golf at Coosa Country Club for $65, which includes a golf cart and tee times available from late morning through the afternoon. A “Perfect Pairings Luncheon” at 12 p.m. hosted by Sharon Henson of the Atlanta Wine School at The Lodge at the Village at Maplewood will offer eight courses of small dishes paired with the perfect wine and a complimentary chef’s apron. The Perfect Pairings Luncheon is $65 per person and it is limited to 20 people. Additionally, a premier VIP wine party at the Woodlee Culinary Arts Center at 6:30 p.m. will feature French and American wines paired with elaborate gourmet hors d’oeuvres. The VIP wine party is $125 per person, which includes admittance to the Rome Fine Wine Festival on Sunday, and it is limited to 80 people. Tickets to all of the Saturday events are available through the Rome Symphony’s office. The VIP wine party tickets are also available on the Web site.
A Festival Weekend Package is also available for $200 per person, which includes your choice of golf at Coosa Country Club or admittance to the Perfect Pairings Luncheon, as well as entry to the Premier VIP Wine Party, the Champagne brunch, and the Rome Fine Wine Festival. More than 100 wines will be available for tasting at the Rome Fine Wine Festival in accompaniment with food from local caterers and restaurants.
Local restaurants and caterers participating in the wine festival include Coosa Country Club, Provino’s Italian Restaurant, Two Can Do, Kroger, Great Harvest Bread Co., and Bella Roma.
The wine festival will also feature a silent auction with items such as jewelry, massages, themed baskets, portrait packages, artwork, and gift certificates.
Rome Fine Wine Festival tickets may be purchased in advance for $40 or at the door for $50. Each festival ticket holder will receive a complimentary wine glass to enhance the tasting experience.

Proceeds from the wine festival events benefit the Rome Symphony Orchestra, the South’s oldest symphony, which is in its 90th year.
