Three Rivers Garden Club honored at reception
 
ROME, GA. – The Greater Rome Convention & Visitors Bureau (GRCVB) honored members of the Three Rivers Garden Club on Wednesday at a reception outside the Rome - Floyd Visitor Center.
 
GRCVB Executive Director Lisa Smith presented the club with a 75-pound bag of mulch and a $100 gift card for gardening supplies.
 
"Our visitor center is the front door to all travelers coming into the community, and Three Rivers Garden Club works very hard year-round to ensure that all visitors have a beautiful entrance to Rome and Floyd County," said Smith.
 
The 26-member club was founded in 1949. The club has sponsored the Rome - Floyd Visitor Center garden since 1976. 
 
"Of all of the gardens, this is the most visible in Rome and we have so much pride in making it beautiful," said Diane Harbin, club member.
 
Members Jo Holder, Brenda Harp, Sue Alford, Dean Guin, Mary Louise Dixon, Diane Harbin, John Barnett, Winnie Holland, Bobby Mixon, and Wanda Mixon were all present at the reception.
 
Jackie Fulmer, president of Federated Garden Clubs of Rome, was also in attendance.
 
At the reception, the GRCVB also announced that the Last Stop Gift Shop will now carry the cookbook of the Federated Garden Clubs of Rome with proceeds going to the gardens.
