Northwest Georgia invited to experience a night of bluegrass and barbeque
 
ROME, GA – For one night, Oak Hill and The Martha Berry Museum will be will be bathed in the glow of thousands of twinkling lights, surrounded by the sounds of modern bluegrass and enveloped in the smell of delicious barbeque. “The Firefly Fling at Oak Hill,” a night of bluegrass and barbeque is scheduled for Saturday, May 7; gates open at 6 p.m. and the concert begins at 7 p.m.
 
The event is presented by Oak Hill & the Martha Berry Museum, Rome Area Council for the Arts (RACA) and the Junior Service League of Rome.
 
General admission tickets for the concert are $20 each and are available at the Rome-Floyd Visitor Center, Harvest Moon Café, Living & Giving, and Oak Hill and The Martha Berry Museum. Tickets are also available online at www.FireflyFling.org for $25.
 
The Lovell sisters of Larkin Poe will headline the fling with local band, Thunderbolt Patterson, as the opening act. The leads of Larkin Poe, Rebecca and Megan Lovell, hail from Calhoun, GA, and they have been performing original “new grass” songs all over the Southeast for the past five years.
 
Rome’s Harvest Moon Café will provide a barbeque dinner for all attendees. Attendees can are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for general admission. Sponsor tables for six, eight, or 10 people are also available.
 
Ticket price includes concert admission, a barbeque dinner plate and a non-alcoholic beverage. Wine and beer will be available for purchase. Featured beers will include special brews from the Sweetwater Brewery. Outside food, beverages and coolers are not allowed.
